There is quite a significant difference between Patti Smiths - Smells like teen spirit compared to Nirvanas. First off, Patti Smiths is much slower than Nirvanas, it also sounds like country music too. The difference in the voices of the two artists are completely different too, Kurt Cobains voice is much more gravelly and powerfull whereas Patti Smith has a subtle, quiet sound to his voice, this immedietly changes the way the song is seen. Nirvanas version is also very harsh and tends to get very loud during, whereas Patti Smiths pretty much stays the same the whole way through.
